I don't love you anymore. When we're together lifes a chore. It's harder than it seems to make the world believe that I don’t love you anymore ‘cause you’re the one I’ve been waiting for.
2.
Nobody Knows 02:41
You ain't living, you’ve gone cold. There’s nothing left here but you’re bare bones. When will you wise up and start the show? You’ve got a lot to give but nobody knows. All the time spent away, far from home. I’ve been undecided here all alone.
3.
That oldies song we knew looking back had nothing to say Give me something new to play so I can play it every day Our time is over, our time is over Our time has gone and left without a letter so whatever Our time is over, batten down and sober It's just time ticking away Our time has sold us years We spent them sucking down beers We turned into our own worse cliche Not saying all was bad, we made the most of what we had And I'm glad to say we spent our time this way
4.
Daylilies 02:16
Daylily things aren’t always what they seem Hey maybe we’re all just living in one big dream Trumpets sound all around the town but halos are all I see Cause I'm in bed, dead, out of my head Daylily you’ve got me caught up in your scheme Hey maybe you can hear my silent scream Trumpets sound all around the town but none of them are for me
5.
I get the feeling I’m being used Every step I take makes you seem more amused An opened mind, coming through so blind I get the feeling I’m being used Baby baby talks so shrewd Taking more from life then giving attitude
6.
Everything stayed where it was Squalling in the night breeze Hold tight I think I'm losing rope Please sing a melody of battered seas for me Coming around the bend Coming around the bend today Oh I never tried Lost sights of my surroundings Hold tight and never let me go
7.
Heart Attack 02:11
Never took the time to stop and listen ‘Cause I always had a point a view I’d fake a heart attack or two, its true Just to have another day with you Every word has turned into a mystery Every thought I had was all gone to
8.
I’m aware of things you always think Take another and another, take another drink I’m aware of games you always play I’m aware of things you always You always have something more to say Sunny days and afternoons I’ve lost more days than nights But can I count on one thing and that's you
9.
Everybody knows watch for ACs falling from windows On our way back home to New York City Candlelights that fade into skyrise Cabs up on the sidewalk where you nearly could have died By the way you look so pretty Close your eyes your in for a surprise
10.
Get Away 01:36
Today is the day, feels like an enormous strain Can't wait to tell you how I feel about you Oh by the way, all you do is just complain and I hate the days when I see you Go on get away, get get away, get away from me Oh what a soiree of seedy stuff inside your brain
11.
I'm about to make some noise and open up the streets I'm about to break some toys and make some enemies Don't you see, don't you see? Oh when the bourbon calls I’m laughing at your feet Listen son, it takes some balls can't plan on guarantees Send around an SOS when no else can find Belly up and bring your best, no use in flying blind And so it goes, everybody knows Every road leads somewhere, its an eventuality On my knees baby won't you please Put your mind at ease and takes some time and rest with me
12.
The other day a letter came addressed to someone new Suddenly it came over me that letter was addressed to you Some days when I'm looking back, there's some that touch me cold And other days they meant a lifetime, now I'm growing old Oh baby let's ditch the scenery and get another try A bit more green would be such a dream You really caught my eye Get out of the way you’d like to say, the days are calling you It's a little bit dark and stark but all that's nothing new And all the ashtrays, trash for days, piles of cans and bottles too It’ll be like this for years, until i hear from you Oh baby you light the scenery It's hard to say goodbye A bit more time would’ve been so sublime You really caught my eye

about

Inland Years is an anagram for Ryan Daniels, a home recording artist based in Brooklyn, NY.

Informed by ’60s & ’70s psych and garage rock, Inland Years started as a sanity challenge during the pandemic. The idea was to complete one song a month. Often times Ryan would produce multiple songs. His wife thinks this work sounds like Belle and Sebastian, he sees himself sounding more like a bad Guided by Voices.

These twelve songs are an intimate look into some of the more poppy tunes that came from the frustrations of isolation, remote office work, family stress and just general boredom.
